నీరు త్వరగా ఇంకిపోయే గరప, ఎఱ్ఱ రేగడి, చల్కా నేలల్లో మరియు మురుగు నీరు పోయే వసతి గల నల్ల రేగడి నేలల్లో సాగు చేయవచ్చు.

చౌడు నేలలు, నీటి ముంపుకు గురయ్యే నేలలు పనికి రావు.

భూమిని రెండు సార్లు నాగళ్లతో దున్ని మెత్తగా తయారుచెయ్యాలి.

SOILS

It can be cultivated in clay, red clay, chalky soils that drain quickly and in black clay soils that have drainage facilities.

Clay soils and soils prone to waterlogging are not suitable.

The land should be ploughed twice and made soft.
